Cusco and the Sacred Valley of the Inca - 7/10 Days

Day

1

  • Cusco plaza meet and greet
  • We’ll walk through parts of the town exploring the architecture.
  • Tour the sacred site of Sacsayhuaman
  • In the early evening we’ll make our way to Pisaq.
  • Dinner

Detail...

We’ll begin our excursion meeting at The Plaza de Armas in the city of Cusco around noon. We will meet one another and head to a few places near the square exploring the architecture. Next,  we’ll make our way to the sacred site of Sacsayhuaman, exploring the site and analyzing what it is and may have been. Afterwards we’ll head to the lovely town of Pisac for dinner and check into our rooms.

2

  • Early morning breakfast
  • Morning tour of Pisac ruins
  • Midday we’ll make our way to Hillaria’s home for lunch and learn about the importance of weaving through Quecha culture
  • In the evening we’ll head back to Pisac and have dinner

We will begin the day with an early morning breakfast at our hotel and then make our way to the Pisac ruins exploring the site. From here, we will head to Hillaria’s home for lunch and a cultural exchange exploring the weavings of the Quecha people and their importance. In the early evening we will make our way back to Pisac for dinner and you’ll have free time to stroll through the town.

  • Breakfast
  • In the morning we will tour and stroll through the town of Pisac
  • Midday we’ll head to our site to participate in the sacred ritual of Temezcal
  • Dinner

Today, we will begin the day with breakfast and then walk through the town of Pisac. By midday we will ascend to our destination for an afternoon Temezcal ceremony. Afterwards, we’ll descend back into the town of Pisac for dinner and rest.

4

  • Huachuma hike
  • We’ll be hiking in a beautiful Andean landscape communing with the nature and the sacred medicine of Huachuma (San Pedro)
  • Dinner

Today, we will begin the day with a light breakfast. We’ll meet up with our Huachumero and he will take us to a lovely location to engage in a Huachuma ceremony. This experience will last all day. We will be guided on a beautiful hike in the Andes while engaging with this truly magical and healing medicine. In the evening, we’ll make our way back to town for a delicious dinner and rest.

  • Breakfast
  • Museum de Inkary in Arin where we will explore ancient Andean culture at the museum learning about different tribes and their way of life
  • Lunch
  • In the afternoon after lunch we’ll visit the amazing archaeological site of Naupa Huaca
  • Dinner

Today, we will begin the morning with breakfast and travel through The Sacred Valley to a museum where we will be learning about different Andean tribes and their customs. After lunch at the museum, we will head to the sacred site of Naupa Huaca. There we will embrace the site’s energy and give an offering to the temple. From there, we will head to our hotel, have a nice dinner and settle in for the night.

6

  • Breakfast
  • Explore the Chinchero ruins and hike to the Poc Poc waterfall OR Explore the sacred site of Moray and Maras Salt Mines
  • We will participate in a delicious ceremony using the sacred medicine of Cacao

On this day, we will wake up and have a nice breakfast before heading out on our next adventure. On our way to Chinchero we will be able to see large mountainous landscapes and their peaks, soaking in the triumphant power of the mountain range. Once we arrive in the town of Chinchero we will be able to explore the sacred site and hike to the magnificent Poc Poc waterfall! Truly magical water rushes unexpectedly from part of the mountain. After communing with the sacred waters we will head back to town for lunch. Later in the afternoon we will participate in a Cacao ceremony, exploring the ritual of the medicine and sharing with the group. Before dinner you’ll have some free time to journal and/or walk around.

7

  • Breakfast
  • Make our way to the town and sacred site of Ollantaytambo
  • visit the famous Ollantaytambo archeological ruins
  • Dinner

Detail...

Today, we will wake up and have breakfast. Then, we’ll make our way to the town and sacred site of Ollantaytambo. We’ll explore the site and then have lunch. You’ll have ample free time to explore the town before dinner and rest.

8

  • Breakfast
  • We’ll depart on a beautiful, lush, scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes
  • Explore the quaint town of Augas Calientes and have lunch
  • Visit hot springs
  • Dinner

This day starts off with breakfast and a short walk to the train station. From here we will descend into a beautiful cloud forest on the train offering breathtaking epic views and a delightful train ride into the town of Aguas Calientes. Once we arrive in Aguas Calientes we’ll have lunch and time to explore the town. Later in the day we will head to the hot springs for a nice dip in the hot pools before returning to our hotel for dinner and rest.

9

  • Early Breakfast
  • Early morning tour of Machu Picchu
  • Lunch
  • Train back to Ollantaytambo
  • Dinner

Detail...

We will begin the day early with breakfast and make our way to a bus stop that will take us to the top of the Machu Picchu. We will have ample time to explore the park, taking photos and enveloping in the mystery of the sacred site. By midday we’ll head back to town for lunch and then get back on the train to Ollantaytambo. We’ll check back into our room and have dinner and time to engage with one another and the lovely, scenic town of Ollantaytambo.

10

  • Breakfast and goodbyes
  • Closing Ceremony

Detail...

On this day, we will wake up and have a nice breakfast before packing up our belongings and checking out of our hotel. We will engage in one last ceremonial sharing integration circle before saying our goodbyes and going our own ways.
